Jo Wilson -Regional Head South East

November 19, 2015

I began working in social care in 1987, my first role was in a residential school before I moved in to a residential crisis intervention unit. I then worked for a Local Authority as a social work assistant in the childrens team. My first role in the independent fostering sector was in 1995 when I joined a small agency in South London as a student social worker. Having completed my Diploma in Social Work in 1997 I worked for the same IFA as a social worker and then manager. In 2003 I moved to another IFA, starting a satellite office in London for an established agency. Whilst in this post I completed my BA Hons in Specialist Social Work. I remained in this post as the Manager until 2014 when the agency was acquired. Through the acquisition process I became the registered manager of a large team of carers across London. I joined UK Fostering as the Regional Head for the South East team in February 2018.
I have two grown up sons and two grandsons who keep me very busy at the weekends
