Jo has worked with children and families for almost 20 years. Following her first degree in Psychology with Computer Science she worked for the National Youth Advocacy Service providing help and support to children and young people. After 5 years, she moved to working with young people leaving care as a Personal Advisor for Liverpool City Council. It was during this time that she completed her Social Work degree and moved into working in a safeguarding children team.

Jo has experience of many areas of social work including safeguarding, children in care, adoption, leaving care, youth offending and with a behavioural education support team. Jo also spent a year working with young people with cancer and supporting them and their families with issues surrounding the diagnosis and bereavement.

Jo started as a freelance independent form F assessor for UK Fostering and was employed full time in June 2015.
