Becky – Supervising Social Worker
Hi, my name is Becky! I joined UK Fostering in November 2021 as a supervising social worker as part of the UK Fostering Northeast team.
I qualified as a social worker in 2021 at the University of Northumbria.
Prior to my degree, I worked as a support worker with individuals who had a diverse range of cognitive and physical needs. I have also done voluntary work with the youth offending team and in a special needs school and have experience through placements of working in a children’s safeguarding team and an independent fostering agency.
I am beginning to settle in my role here at UK Fostering NE. I am enjoying getting to know the carers and building positive relationships with them as well as some of the children they care for. As a newly qualified social worker, my colleagues are very supportive and always on hand to offer support and guidance. I am proud to be a part of an ‘outstanding’ team here in the Northeast and I’m committed to working in a way which seeks to achieve positive outcomes for looked after children.
On a personal note- I have two children, a nine-year-old boy, and a seven-year-old girl. My hobbies include running, walking my dog and going for family days out- At weekends I can often be found bouncing around a trampoline park or looking for ogres in the woods!
