Amy -Senior Supervising Social Worker

April 15, 2020

I qualified as a Social Worker in 2015, studying a Masters at The University of Salford, qualifying with a distinction. Previous to this I received a BA Hons in criminology and sociology from Manchester Metropolitan University. I have since worked in child protection including in Duty and Looked after childrens teams and have a passion for achieving positive outcomes for the children I work with. I most recently worked in a childrens exploitation team within a local authority, working with children at risk of sexual and criminal exploitation.

Before qualifying I worked with adults in an intense support service for those with a history of offending who had learning disabilities and mental health needs.

I have experience of using trauma based practice and involving this within my one to one work with children including work around adverse childhood experiences, neglect, sexual abuse and feelings of abandonment. I am very person centred in my approach and feel honoured to be able to support families and try to have a positive impact.

I have always wanted to be involved within fostering and look forward to learning new skills and developing within the UK fostering team!
