Hello, my name is Melike Stocker but most people usually call me Mel.
I joined UK Fostering in February 2020 as a supervising social worker in the North West region and was very excited to get on board with the organisation. I qualified as a social worker in July 2018 from the University of Chester and spent just over a year and a half as a looked after children’s social worker, which I loved.
Prior to qualifying, I worked in supported accommodation for young people and adults, also gaining placement experience in the child in need/child protection remit. I have wanted to work with children since a young age, having even teaching the younger children dance at my old dance school from around the age of 15/16.
In my spare time, my horses take up most of my time! I like to compete with them. I also love to bake and do some fundraising for cancer charities when I’m able to.
