It is the time of year that we get to celebrate some of the most important supporters of foster carers in their own home – the children of foster carers!
We know that sometimes it is not easy to have to share your parents’ time, your toys, and even space in your home, so a massive
THANK YOU
for being amazing in the way that you help your mums and dads to be able to care for the children that come to stay!
But despite the challenges, you show understanding, resilience, and heart. This month is all about recognizing YOU—the incredible young people who help make fostering possible.
We hope that being part of a fostering family feels special to you, and we asked some of you that have parents that foster with UK Fostering what you like about being part of the UK Fostering family, and you told us:
“There are pleasant experiences as a part of UK Fostering, me and my brother play and spend time with foster brother.”
“Being a part of UK Fostering we can contribute to our community”
“I’ve seen first-hand how challenging and very much rewarding fostering has been for my parents, which has made me think that in the future, at some point, this is something that I would consider”
“We attend almost all the UK Fostering events. We really like it.”
“Thank you to UK Fostering for doing a wonderful job”
Last year the name changed from Sons and Daughters Month to Children of Foster Carers Month, ensuring inclusivity with gender-neutral language.
