Nicky Hudson – Director – North East / Registered Manager for UK Fostering (NE)

I qualified as a social worker in 1991. I subsequently obtained an MA is Child Protection Studies in July 1998. I also qualified as a NVQ assessor and practice assessor. I passed the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People’s Services – Children and Young People’s Management on 30th June 2021 allowing me to become the Registered Manager for the NE Region.

I have also been a foster carer in the past, carrying out this role for 12years. I have worked in various settings including child protection, a residential family assessment centre, independent fostering agencies, Chichester University and in the Children’s Safeguarding Standards Unit of a Local Authority as an Independent Reviewing Officer. During my career I also undertook independent work as a consultant and trainer, specialising in parenting assessments and viability assessments (PAMs trained). I have worked for both the public and private sectors in the North and Southeast. In addition, I was involved in training aboard and have developed and ran training session in Belarus, Budapest, and Armenia for ‘Leaves of Hope’ which helped train professionals to recruit, assess and support foster carers in these countries.
