Today is the start of Foster Care Fortnight 2023, and our UK Fostering Foster Carers continue to share with you some of their fostering experiences. Linda and Nigel, it’s over to you:
“Just over 2yrs ago a funny cheeky little boy arrived on our doorstep. He stole our hearts he changed our lives forever.
Our little lad has ASD and ADHD. He had been in numerous placements and described as ‘naughty’ and ‘unmanageable.’
With love, guidance and stability we have helped change his life around. He has moved from a mainstream school to a SEN School which is better able to meet his needs. He is working hard towards his SATS and is expected to do very well in his education. He is also thriving in his home life with us.
Our fostering agency have supported us fully with giving this child the home he so deserves. They have helped us to learn strategies and offered excellent training to fully equip us to support our boy.
To raise awareness for Foster Care Fortnight we would strongly recommend fostering to anyone who can provide a loving home to a child. You can make a huge difference to a child’s life.
We are currently waiting to go to panel to keep our little boy on a permanent long term foster basis.”
Like us, you can change a life.
The reward is knowing that you have made that difference.
